Injury Clinic Frequently Asked Questions
Sports Therapy differs from Physiotherapy in its specialised focus on musculoskeletal pain and injuries within the healthcare sector. While both disciplines aim to promote health and recovery, Sports Therapy places particular emphasis on:
- Musculoskeletal Expertise: Specialisation in treating musculoskeletal pain and injuries, addressing issues such as strains, sprains, and joint pain.
- Comprehensive Approach: Utilisation of a combination of hands-on treatment, patient education, and tailored exercise programmes.
- Evidence-Based Practice: Integration of the latest research, advice, assessment tools, and exercise techniques to accurately diagnose the root cause of pain and tailor treatment plans accordingly.
- Personalised Care: Customised treatment plans designed specifically for individual needs, aiming to restore full function and minimise the risk of future injuries.
All our therapists are fully qualified, insured, and members of relevant governing bodies. Our Graduate Sports Rehab Therapists undergo a minimum of 3 years of university training, comparable to physiotherapists.
If you have an injury, we recommend booking an appointment at our injury clinic. Please note, our Sports massage appointments are primarily for maintenance purposes and do not involve treatment or diagnosis of injuries. If you’re unsure about whom to book with, feel free to contact us, and we will provide guidance tailored to your needs.
Initial assessments and treatments typically last approximately 45-60 minutes, while follow-up appointments generally last up to 40 minutes.
Unable to see us in person? We now offer the flexibility of remote and virtual appointments, meaning you don’t need to be local to consult with one of our therapists.
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Depending on your injury, you may need to bring shorts or a vest top.
For some assessments, you may be asked to undress to your underwear to allow your therapist to fully assess you. If you are not comfortable with this, our therapists can work around this if you let them know your concerns.
- Any current scans, x-ray results, referral letters, or medication lists.
- If you’re a runner or walker, bring your trainers or walking boots.
- Any supports, orthotics, walking aids, or exercise programs you use.
During your initial appointment, your therapist will begin by asking questions about your medical history, current symptoms, exercise habits, and goals for recovery. They will then conduct a physical assessment to pinpoint the underlying cause of your issue.
Following the assessment, your therapist will outline their treatment plan. You may receive hands-on treatment during this session, and they will also initiate an appropriate exercise programme tailored to your needs. They will discuss any necessary follow-up treatments or referrals as part of your comprehensive care plan.

As our therapists primarily specialise in Sports Therapy rather than physiotherapy, coverage may vary. We recommend checking with your insurance provider beforehand to determine what services you can claim for. Alternatively, feel free to speak with us directly, and we can assist you with any inquiries.
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy for all appointments and classes. We understand that circumstances can occasionally be beyond your control. If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your time slot to someone else. However, if you fail to provide 24-hour notice for a cancellation, you may be required to pay for your session in full.
Please note that advance payment may be required for virtual appointments or bike fit packages.
